Sending out 40 sibling care packages this month!

July is a great month. We are able to send out care packages to 4 area support groups... and reach out to 3 families in the area. With our "send your kind words" campaign on facebook we were able to give an area family almost 100 cards with animals messages from their neighbors near and far.

We are so proud of everyone in our community that came together to share compassion to have family who just lost their son/brother. We were able to collect close to 100 messages which we tagged each to stuffed animals and included them in the care package.

The care packages will not lessen the pain the family is going through, but we hope it helps them understand they are not alone!

Thank you to everyone who came out to our fundraiser last week! Great food and a great time... Because of all the support from our community, friends, and family members we are able to provide the MISS chapter of Fairfax with sibling care packages tomorrow. We will be attending the monthly meeting and providing the group with care packages to give to future bereaved parents.

These care packages aren't just a stuffed animal and blanket they are also a great communication tool to continue open dialogue between parent and child during their time of grief. We are so proud of our ability to continue to share our proactive approach to helping families grief in the most healthy way.

We had a great night last night at the Ale House. Many friends and families in the community came out to support TTH and eat some great food. We can't thank everyone enough for your continued support. We are currently updating our website and hope to provide parents with more information with coping and support. Please continue with us on our journey in helping families cope and heal after the death of their child and sibling.

We have added and changed up the board of directors! We are so exciting to have additional women wanting to help in the leadership of our foundation. We are a board of mothers all of whom have lost a child.

We were able to raise some great funds this month:

And drum roll... Our fundraiser with the men's soccer team of Bellevue University: $800

Bad news... weather cancelled our game last night!! Game is rescheduled in two weeks on Wednesday, September 29th! We are headed to Tempe, Arizona for the MISS Foundation Conference over labor day weekend. July and August will be busy raising money to purchase more blankets, collect more stuffed animals, and raise money to pay for our booth at the conference. It is a huge step for us, but we are up for the challenge. Paperwork for filing our 501c3 is coming along and will be completed as soon as we have our final paperwork from the state. We are still shooting for becoming a nonprofit by the end of the year. We will have our first official board meeting this month!

What a day! Two Tiny Hands raised more than $2000. We will be able to apply for our federal tax code 501c3! We could not have had such a great day without all our support... My BFF's at Sheek Shindigs did a great job decorating and helping with "everything," Kaileen from Kaileen Gailhouse photography came and took some amazing pictures, Mountain Top Cookies donated the best cookies, and tons of friends with even Nana and Papa coming from Arizona to help!
The carnival included a big raffle with lots of restaurants in the area donating gift cards, amazing face painters, a moon bounce, games, and tons of food! We were able to book some Snuggle Parties, get our evite started for Spa night (our next fundraiser) at PR Partners, collect tons of stuffed animals, and also raise $50 for a support group starting in Clinton, Missouri.
My BFF, Laura, was able to create an amazing book for us, "Little Life, Big Life!" Her pictures are amazing and I must say the story is perfect (courtesy of mom). Our brochures are all thanks to Laura. We owe her so much for being able to have everything for the party and the beginnings of our foundation.
My neighbors and friends Merissa and Jessie were amazing and donated Wild Tree and Mary Kay products. Merissa helped out so much getting gift cards from local restaurants and 2 cakes from Costco! Amazing!!
The Glessner family are our close friends who have supported our family through so much. Brian helped with games and our fabulous balloon arch. I am so grateful to have them in our lives, their girls are wonderful and Sara with baby Gigi worked so hard making the day a success!

All proceeds go to benefit building our foundation in helping families who have lost a child. We will be honored for you to wear our jewelry and support us.
Our jewelry is hand made by two beautiful jewelers.
The necklaces were made by Kristen at Kikiburrabeads and bracelets by Linda with Solstice. Each of these woman can be found on Etsy and they have donated their time and creativeness helping me design the perfect jewelry to help our foundation.

A great friend of mine started a blog called Mommy Spills! She has add Two Tiny Hands to her website and I am so excited to have her support with our foundation.

This woman is not your average mommy. She has started a non-for-profit in Kansas City, MO- Purses for Promise.

Purses of Promise is a non-profit foundation dedicated to brightening the lives of domestic abuse victims in the Kansas City area. We collect gently-used or new handbags, fill them with necessary items and simple pleasures and distribute them to women in domestic abuse shelters. Each gift symbolizes the promise of a new beginning and the hope of a brighter tomorrow.
